Today has been magical! At 8 am we were dressed, packed, and
ready to see Mickey! It is Corinna’s 9
month birthday and we wanted to celebrate the best way we knew how! After all….Disney’s what celebrations are
made of, right?
We spent the day at The Magic Kingdom, rode just about every
ride our kids could and met a few characters, too! We saw the “Wishes” firework display,
Spectromagic parade, hid under Cinderella’s castle in the middle of a
thunderstorm and rode the brand new “Ariel” ride in the new “Fantasyland”! Tinker Belle called us pixies, the Jungle Cruise
director called us Superman, and Ariel called us sailor. We saw Big Ben, went under the sea and rode a
flying elephant. We laughed with
monsters, flew with Pan and danced with Mickey.
Overall, I’d say it’s no wonder this is the place dreams come true!
Our favorite quotes of the day: Silas was asked by the ride
operator before getting on the “Barnstormer” kids roller coaster if he was
excited. “I don’t know if I’d say
excited!” he replied. And when he
returned he told her he’d be back when he was about 16!
And about mid-afternoon I told Sadie to come with me as I
was going to find a bathroom and take her potty, to which she responded, “GOOD
ATTITUDE, MOMMY!!!” at the top of her lungs!
One of the best parts of the day happened at the “Philharmagic”
3D movie! Sadie had never been and had
no idea what to expect. Her face was priceless
and she spent the entire show trying to reach for objects flying towards
her. She sang and laughed and when the
man behind her (who knew the entire show from heart!) asked Sadie who the pixie
was with Peter Pan, she enthusiastically yelled, “TINKERBELL”! He reached down, grabbed a new Tinkerbelle
stuffed toy and told her she could keep it because she knew the answer to the
trivia question. Turns out it was a Disney
employee who worked at the gift shop right outside the door! She adores her Tinkerbelle and she has been flying
with us ever since!
By mid-afternoon we were pretty exhausted, so we all took a
break and a nap back at our room. At 7 o’clock
we had to wake the kids up in order to fit in some more Magic Kingdom. There is no better way to Disney than to
close down the park, which is exactly what we did! It is too magical in the dark with all the
lights on! And the best part is that we
went during an electrical storm and, since Disney is pretty much all
electrical, everyone was leaving just when we were getting there. Lines were quick and easy!
After watching the fireworks and electric parade we finished
up in Fantasyland a little after 11 o’clock.
Corinna danced and rode and was
an absolute champ the entire time! She’s
definitely getting a hang of this Disney thing!
